Concrete Jobs is seeking a Precast/ Prestressed Concrete QA Assistant Supervisor in the Midwest.

Description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: In joint effort with the QA Manager and Engineering Manager, responsible for the general management, direction, focus and success of the Quality Assurance Department, and works in partnership with Production functions to provide quality precast/prestressed concrete products and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • direct quality assurance processes and schedule workforce and promote a culture of quality
  • establish and maintain a focused and productive environment for QA personnel
  • ensure complete and accurate daily paperwork, job files and customer files
  • ensure inspectors maintain all applicable certifications for all types of product lines
  • maintain a modernized filing system
  • ensure the QA department is following customer requirements and specifications
  • ensure compliance with PCI and Quality Manuals to maintain PCI plant certification
  • improve customer satisfaction
  • contribute to the team effort
  • maintain and instill professional and technical expertise
  • secure confidential and intellectual information and property
  • ensure all occupational safety and hazard procedures are followed in conjunction with all essential duties

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of:

  • Quality Assurance processes, PCI, AAR, and M-1003 requirements
  • concrete technology and manipulation of concrete properties and behavior
  • records, forms and procedures used in the manufacturing and Quality Assurance process of the end product, including its use and tolerances
  • occupational hazards and proper safety precautions

Ability to:

  • successfully lead a team of employees in the Quality Assurance processes
  • obtain daily and intermediate term goals
  • read, understand and implement drawings to specifications and within tolerances
  • relate in a professional manner with direct reports and other employees
  • provide oral and written instruction
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and customers
  • communicate effectively and at an appropriate level for this classification

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities of this classification. Must successfully complete and possess all required company training and certification before operating any machinery, equipment or tools. Must be able to work overtime on short notice, which could exceed 8 hours per shift and/or 40 hours per work week.
