United Employment Group is seeking an Estimator in the Southeast.

Description:

  • Perform engineering calculations and details for all products and connections.
  • Independently manage engineering design aspects of a project with minimal assistance or guidance
  • Check engineering design calculations and details of others – including external consultants/subcontractors - for accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to company standards (with the exception of laterals)
  • Complete repairs without assistance
  • Resolve engineering design issues independently (with the exception of laterals)
  • Assist others with resolving engineering design issues (with exception of laterals)
  • Attend project meetings; may lead coordination meetings
  • Independently perform lateral design
  • Write and review requests for information (RFI)
  • Actively aware of production processes through regular plant visits
  • Evaluates design cost as compared to estimate and takes appropriate action

 

Scope of Authority:
  • Closely supervised
  • May work independently or as a member of a team
  • Makes decisions related to their own projects in regard to assignment of tasks
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Engineer Level I and II associates; receive guidance and assignments primarily from Engineer Level IV; interact closely with project team including project managers, general managers, and drafting

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • 4-8 years of relevant engineering experience – internal or external
  • Previous precast knowledge preferred
  • Highly dependable with strong work ethic

Education and Technology:
  • BS Civil Engineering required; structural emphasis preferred
  • PE Certification required
