United Employment Group is seeking a Production Supervisor in the Southeast.

Description:

Under general supervision, direct personnel and processes in the production and associated duties of manufactured products; perform related work as required or assigned.

 

Essential Duties:
  • Staff crews with the appropriate type and quantity of personnel for safe and efficient methods
  • Coordinate and assure proper material deliveries
  • Plan work schedules of crews to assure conformance to estimated labor projections and project deadlines
  • Perform checks on setups and finished products for accuracy and conformance to plans and specifications
  • Monitor personnel for adherence to company policies and productivity
  • Read blueprints and specifications and be technically proficient
  • Produce a quality product (including quality evaluations) that meets the customers expectations while ensuring that drawings and job specifications are followed
  • Communicate with management and train subordinates
  • Performs requirements to satisfy company procedures including administrative requirements
  • Maintain order and housekeeping
  • Perform all occupational safety and hazard procedures in conjunction with all essential duties
  • Strives for zero defects and incidents
  • Evaluate and develop personnel

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Production processes including form setups, cast-in materials placement, concrete properties and finish evaluations
  • Industry tolerances and specifications for specific product lines
  • Prestressing operations
  • Handling and transporting of cured products
  • Occupational hazards and proper safety precautions
  • Complete production processes and how each interact

Skills in:

  • Safe and efficient use of equipment, machines and tools used in the manufacturing or support processes
  • Basic math, to include working with fractions, multiplication, addition and subtraction
  • The use of a tape measure or other simple measuring devices to ensure correct specifications
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other and between employees
  • Basic computer skills

Ability to:

  • Successfully lead a team of employees in the manufacturing or production support process
  • Read, understand and implement drawings to specifications and within tolerances.
  • Maintain and direct production rate at the required level
  • Plan, allocate resources and coordinate manpower, materials and equipment including “right- sizing” crews with appropriate skill sets
  • Foster a culture of safety and quality
  • Communicate with various personnel types

 

Work Environment:

Employee may be exposed to:

  • Moving mechanical/electrical parts and equipment
  • Fumes or airborne particles
  • Vibration
  • Metal preservatives
  • Oils and greases
  • Loud noise
  • Heat/cold/wet conditions
  • Working above ground

 

Phsycial Demands:

While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend or twist; talk and hear, see and focus. The employee must regularly lift and/or move heavy objects, up to and exceeding 50 pounds.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities of this classification. Must successfully complete and possess all required company training and certification before operating any machinery, equipment or tools. Must be able to work overtime on short notice, which could exceed 8 hours per shift and/or 40 hours per work week.
