Oversees the manufacturing of products as determined by production schedules, forecasts, and work orders submitted via customer requests. Oversees the yard, which includes the loading, receiving, and delivery of products. This position is one of the key management members that ensures the safety of all employees.
•Oversees the plant. Interviews, hires, trains, plans, assigns, and directs work; motivates, coaches, evaluates, rewards and disciplines employees. Interfaces with Human Resources and the Operations Manager regarding employee performance related issues and addresses each situation appropriately. Adheres to the Cardinal Rule of Conduct and holds others accountable to the policy. Delegates expectations to other managers and supervisors to communicate to their departments.
•Maintains a safe, clean and well-organized working environment with the responsibility of ensuring safety at the branch. Works with the Corporate EHS Director to implement corporate safety initiatives. Coordinates and/or conducts safety meetings with employees to educate on a variety of topics to encourage safe practices and to make employees aware of the importance of safety.
•Facilitates the ongoing lean improvement process. Identifies areas of cost savings, efficiencies, and quality of product manufacturing based on observations and evaluations of product lines. Offers suggestions for improvement of production functions and implements processes that ensure efficiency and accuracy.
•Prepares, implements, evaluates, and executes daily expectations of work orders with the responsibility of providing quality products in a timely manner without continuous overtime. Coordinates production and work schedules to meet customer demands and ensure proper labor count to support demands. Monitors overtime hours and labor costs daily, weekly, etc. to manage labor costs. Ensures quality of all products is constantly monitored.
•Ensures all employees in the plant have been properly trained on manufacturing process, utilization of tools, safety, production demands, quality expectations, dependability expectations, and efficiency goals. Ensures that all employees operating machinery are certified and properly trained prior to utilizing any machinery (i.e. cranes, forklifts, cutters, etc.) Motivates employees in work area to achieve production goals and quality standards.

Qualifications

 


Preferred Education: Four year Bachelor's Degree

10+ years' related experience in a manufacturing environment with progressively more responsible supervisory and management experience

American Concrete Institute (ACI) certification - Required
