Analyzes blueprints, sketches, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to provide technical support to sales, engineering, field erection, and manufacturing through the development and communication of detailed project/product takeoff's and cost estimates for precast/prestressed concrete materials. Must be able to take various views of projects and mentally build the best solution for the most cost effective method.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop 2D drawings and/or 3D Models, to be used as sales tools, in the development of projects.
Develop detailed product takeoffs from contract drawings as well as 2D drawings/3D models created as sales tools.
Make adjustments to development drawings and/or models as changes are incorporated by the owner, architect, engineer, or others as the project develops and update pricing based upon these changes in a relatively short time period.
Maintains the high standard of conduct which is long established in the company. Deals with all entities in a fair and ethical manner at all times.
Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists.
Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.
Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues relating to contract documents.
Works independently, as well as under the direct supervision of the estimating manager.
Develops unit prices, alternate prices, spreadsheets, and bid analyses.
Develops detailed quantity surveys (takeoffs) and estimates.
Develops complete cost estimates for review by the VP of Marketing and Estimating Manager.
Remains insightful and analytical under extreme bid-day deadline conditions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Apply for this position.
